The notoriously steep Creux drag lift back from Courchevel 1650
has been replaced by a new high speed chairlift, Les Gravelles.
The 3 Vallées 1 and 2 chairlifts, the main route back from
Val Thorens, have been replaced by a Funitel (seating 20 people
per pod), which will dramatically ease the frequent congestion.
In Les Menuires the old Becca lift and the two Les Combes drag lifs
have been replaced with a new chairlift, increasing the hourly lifting
capacity greatly.
The Pistes
The black Ecureuil which runs from the top of Tougnette between
Faon and Combes des Tougnettes makes a welcome reappearance to the
piste map. It has been re-modelled and is now a red run.
For beginners, the Côtes drag lift above the Altiport has
been extended so skiers can get back from the Altiport to the mid
stationof Rhodos, from where they can take the bubble back down
to the Chaudanne. Both the Côtes and the Altiport draglifts
are free.
The Fouine, Bourbon-Bussey and Ermitage runs have been widened and
re-shaped, as has the Blaireau run to give it a new north-facing
orientation.
Public Services
Public Toilets have been installed under the Pas du Lac bubble station.
4 new information boards have been installed within the Valley,
providing information such as weather conditions, special events
etc. 22 New Parking places have been built in the village of Chandon.
Video surveillance cameras have been installed in the underground
parking areas.

Ski Schools
Two of Meribels ever growing number of ski schools, Snow Systems,
and Euro Ski Aventure have moved into new ofices. You will now find
SnowSystems in Les Trolles building, next to the Casino supermarket
at the entrance to the resort. Euro Ski Aventure have moved to the
Tremplin complex near the Chaudanne.
Chalet Services

Self-catering holiday makers can now pre-book their groceries before
leaving the UK and have them delivered to their apartment or chalet
with 1 hour of arriving in the resort.
Bars and Restaurants
A brand new bar comes to town to add to the wealth of après
ski entertaintment already available. Head on down to Fix, next
to Jacks Bar. Red and Gold, Glitzy and glamourous, this bar
is sure to be a great success.
Regulars to Meribel will all be aware of Les Castors, one of the
resorts favourite lunchtime piste side restaurants. For this season,
Maya, daughter of the original owners has entirely rennovated the
place to freshen it up, and add a snack bar / take away service.
