Le Cro Magnon


Located at the top of town on the Plateau de Morel, and open lunchtime and evening, the Cro Magnon offers real French family cooking at its best. The house specialities include a Roblochonnade (a whole Roblochon grilled on a bed of roasted potatoes), and a Grillonnade (tender cubes of beef, grilled by yourself at the table, with local sauces). Portions are generous, most main courses are served with three vegetable dishes. It is advisable to book, but should you need to wait a while, Gerard will be happy to serve you drinks at the bar, before Brigitte, the charming patrone, shows you to your table.

 

Le Refuge


Just down from the main square, this stalwart French bar and restaurant offers delicious traditional Savoyard food upstairs, and pizzas day and night, downstairs. At lunchtime there is a good value plat du jour. Here you will find a real taste of Gallic life. The decor and ambiance are reassuringly French, with chunky wooden tables and ancient farming memorabilia. Practise your French over a pastis with one of the “Frères tempêtes”, Phillipe, Eric and Frank.

 

Les Enfants Terribles


This bistro style bar restaurant has a tremendous atmosphere with a busy vibrant wine bar and lively waitresses. The warm log fire in the centre of the restaurant, Candlelit tables, cool sounds, and fun, charming staff equate to a very enjoyable evening. The delicious menu includes all the usual French specialities including Foie Gras, moules marinière, snails, and great selection of both fish and meat main courses. All is of a very high quality but excellent value for money. Les Enfants Terribles is a very popular rendez-vous for after dinner drinking before heading off clubbing.

 

La Flambée


Run by Marco, ably assisted by his pizzaiolo, La Flambée offers an alliance between authentic Italian cooking and Savoyard cuisine, like the Tartiflette pizza, or the pizza Savoyarde made with Beaufort, Comté and Emmental cheese over dried meats. Their pizzas are amongst the best in the resort, cooked ‘au feu de bois’, which creates a unique flavour. La Flambée is situated opposite the Chaudanne hotel, it serves take away pizzas. Open every day 12h00 – 14h30 and 19h00 – 23h00.

 

The Lodge du Village


The second child of Tim and Debbie Wall from the Ski Lodge in La Tania. The bar is open from 09h00 til 00h30, with a happy hour between 4pm and 6pm, and the promise of live music. The restaurant on the ground floor has an Italian décor. At lunchtime pizzas, pastas, salads, and a daily special can be enjoyed on the sunny, sheltered terrace. The evening menu offers -fresh, authentic, Italian dishes, a varied wine list from France and Italy, and a great choice of desserts.

 

Le Grain De Sel


Opened last season, this exquisite restaurant enjoys an ideal position on the piste, just up from the centre of Mottaret. It has an enormous south facing terrace and serves excellent, wholesome food at lunchtime and gourmet à la carte dishes at night. The patrons, Florian and Daniel Duc, stress that the quality of the food served is what is most important to them, whether its the more prevalent Savoyard specialities or more complicated Gallic delicasies. Whether you fancy something light like an omelette, which are amongst the best in the valley, or just a plate os smoked salmon. Other specialities include foie gras and grilled lobster. Additionally the restaurants extensive selection of wines deserves a special mention. Reservations are recommended.

 

Pizza Express


As this much celebrated chain of pizzerias has grown in the UK, so has the popularity of the Meribel branch, now entering its sixth year. Open every night from 17h30 until 01h30 Reservations are strongly advised. This is a stylish restaurant, serving great food, chilled live music and a warm, friendly welcome. Discover why this is one of Meribel’s favourite destinations for the ultimate evening out. Be warned! Monday sees the legendry ‘Beatles experience’ with ‘Patchwork’ from 22h00. Definitely not an evening for the feint hearted.

 

Pizzeria de Mottaret


More than a pizzeria, this beautifully styled restaurant and grill in the centre of Mottaret offers a thoroughly satisfying meal out. It serves non-stop from midday until 10pm and has a spacious outside terrace. As well as delicious pizzas, the restaurant offers a wide range of Savoyarde specialities, such as Tartiflette and Vacherin Chaud, a variety of grilled meats and salads. The décor is welcoming and the atmosphere warm and rustic.

 

La Taverne Restaurant


Situated right in the heart of Méribel, you will find La Taverne Restaurant, Wine and Tapas bar. An a la carte menu with an infusion of international and innovative cuisine and seafood specialities complimented with local savoyarde fayre, and an extensive wine list ranging from classical to the sublime. After 22h30 the service changes to an excellent selection of Tapas, which are served until 01h00. There are also 10 internet terminals.

La Galette


Situated right in the centre of Meribel this is a typically savoyard restaurant which is well worth a visit. The prices are very reasonable, and the new owners very welcoming. As well as the regional specialities, you have a choice of a variety of waffles, and crèpes, omelettes, salads and of course their infamous pizzas, which are also available to take away. Do reserve a table, you won’t be disappointed. The restaurant serves non-stop from 12pm to 12am.
